Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP) today announced Forrester Research has recognized Check Point as a ‘Leader’ in their new report The Forrester Wave™: Automated Malware Analysis, Q2 2016. The company’s advanced zero-day protection technology SandBlast was evaluated.
Vendors were evaluated on their current offerings, product strategy and market presence. The Forrester Wave™: Automated Malware Analysis report scores vendors on 36 weighted criteria. The results position Check Point as a leader, with the top score for Strategy (tied).
“Check Point is honored to be named a leader by Forrester Research in this Wave evaluation. We believe that our position as a leader further validates our strategy and technology,” said Nathan Shuchami, head of threat prevention, Check Point. “In today’s rapidly evolving threat landscape, preventing attacks before they strike is paramount. The CPU-level detection capabilities of our SandBlast solution, combined with proactive protection based on our Threat Extraction technology, sets the bar for security solutions that safeguard organizations from the onslaught of highly sophisticated cyberattacks.”
The report evaluates the eleven most significant automated malware analysis (AMA) providers and states that flexibility and delivery models are key differentiators and will dictate who leads the pack. As a result, AMA has become a necessary investment in order to prevent attacks from the growing number of both known and unknown cyber threats.
“Check Point’s overall philosophy and strategy is targeted toward prevention, and underlying this approach is a strong technical offering with intriguing features,” states the Forrester report. “Perhaps the most impressive element of Check Point’s malware analysis approach is the ability to capture an email attachment, analyze it, and render the content for the end user or security team while the malware is mitigated. Check Point is the only vendor in the Forrester Wave with this unique email capability, setting it apart from competitors.”
