Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKP), the largest pure-play security vendor globally, today announced that co-founder, chairman and CEO Gil Shwed was honored today with a Certificate of Appreciation at IEEE HISTELCON 2015 in Tel Aviv for his contributions as a “Founder of Israel High-Tech by Forging New Frontiers in Information Technologies.”
Mr. Shwed was recognized alongside peers for his contributions to Israel’s technology industry for his work in pioneering the security industry as the inventor of the modern firewall and Stateful Inspection technology, which set the stage for today’s network security infrastructure. Upon being presented with the Certificate of Appreciation, Mr. Shwed delivered a speech about his successes and contributions to Israel’s high-tech industry.
