Check Point Introduces Big Security for Small Businesses

San Carlos, CA  —  Tue, 07 May 2013

Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today launched its new 600 Appliances, delivering powerful Fortune 100 security to protect small businesses against the latest cyber attacks, including viruses, spam, malicious Websites, among others. The 600 Appliances provide an affordable, all-in-one security solution with market leading performance of 1.5 Gbps of firewall throughput and 37 SecurityPower™ units.

Cyber security is a growing challenge for small businesses. According to a new Verizon report1, of the 621 confirmed data breaches studied, close to half occurred at companies with fewer than 1,000 employees, including 193 incidents at entities with fewer than 100 workers. Increasingly, cybercriminals are preying on small businesses as they lack the sophisticated security that larger businesses have.

Check Point’s 600 Appliances provide comprehensive security to ensure small business employees and data are protected at all times. The 600 Appliances come pre-loaded with enterprise-class capabilities, including firewall, VPN, intrusion prevention (IPS), anti-virus, anti-spam, application control, and URL filtering. Most notably, the 600 Appliances run the same industry-leading next-generation firewall and threat prevention capabilities found on Check Point products used by all of the Fortune 100.

The 600 appliances are easy to set up and manage even by non-IT professionals. Flexible Web-based management options are offered through a simple and intuitive user interface. And with security policies pre-defined, small businesses can get their security up and running in a matter of minutes.

“We tested Check Point’s new 600 appliances, and the set up was fast, simple, and extremely straight-forward,” said Nasser Hassan, chief technology officer of security technology provider, Zegtech. “We are very impressed by this new line. The 600 appliances are easy-to-manage and provide complete security perfect for small businesses.”

“Cyber attacks on small businesses are on the rise. It’s no longer just the larger businesses that are being attacked, but companies with a hundred employees or less are also lucrative targets, and no business sector is immune,” said Dorit Dor, vice president of products at Check Point.

“With limited resources, small businesses are often not equipped to deal with the expert cybercriminal. The 600 Appliances solve this problem and offer small businesses an inexpensive, yet comprehensive security solution that provide secure access to critical resources anywhere anytime, while minimizing the risk of a data breach.”
